Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Scope of the Policy and the Products or Services It Covers

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all payments made for courses, training programmes, digital resources and related services offered by mediaverko in connection with professional video operation, live signal management, content distribution, camera work and the creation of reliable high-quality feeds for news programmes and television broadcasting. It covers both one-off course purchases and any subscription-based access to training materials. The policy is intended for customers located in the United Kingdom and explains how payments are processed, when contracts are formed and the circumstances under which refunds may be granted.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Any Additional Charges

All prices displayed on the website are shown in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate unless otherwise stated. Any additional charges such as transaction fees from third-party payment processors or currency conversion costs for international cards will be clearly indicated before payment is authorised. mediaverko reserves the right to adjust prices to reflect changes in VAT rates or other applicable taxes, with any such changes applying only to new orders placed after the date of the adjustment.

Accepted Payment Methods, Payment Authorisation and Payment Security

We accept major credit and debit cards, bank transfers and approved digital wallets. All card payments are processed through secure third-party gateways that comply with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. Payment is authorised at the time of order placement. By submitting payment details you confirm that you are the authorised holder of the payment method or have permission to use it. mediaverko does not store full card details on its own systems.

Order, Booking or Service Confirmation and When a Contract Is Formed

A contract is formed when you receive an order confirmation email from mediaverko following successful payment authorisation. This email will include details of the purchased course or service, access instructions and a summary of the applicable terms. Until this confirmation is issued, no binding contract exists and any payment held prior to confirmation will be returned if the order cannot be fulfilled.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Cancellation Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel most distance contracts within 14 days of the date the contract is formed, without giving a reason. For digital content or online courses where access is granted immediately, you will be asked to provide explicit consent to waive this cooling-off period. If you have not yet accessed the materials you may still cancel within the 14-day period by contacting [email protected].

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items or Services

Refunds are available where cancellation occurs within the statutory cooling-off period or where the service is materially defective and cannot be remedied. No refund will be given once you have started downloading or streaming substantial portions of digital course content, attended live sessions or used promotional materials provided as part of the course. Promotional or discounted bundles may have specific non-refundable elements clearly marked at the time of purchase.

The Step-by-Step Procedure and Information Required to Request a Refund

To request a refund you must email [email protected] with the subject line “Refund Request” and include your full name, order number, date of purchase and a brief description of the reason for the request. You should also provide any supporting evidence such as screenshots of technical issues. Requests must be submitted within the applicable time limits set out above.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision

Upon receipt of a complete refund request mediaverko will acknowledge it within five working days. The request will be reviewed and you will receive a written decision within 14 days. If approved, the refund will be processed; if rejected, the email will explain the reasons and outline any available appeal route. All decisions are made in accordance with UK consumer law and the specific terms applicable to your purchase.

Refund Method, Processing Time and When Funds Should Reach the Customer

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days after approval, although bank transfer refunds may take up to fifteen working days depending on the receiving bank. You will be notified by email once the refund has been initiated.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions, Services or Promotional Offers

Where a subscription renews automatically you will receive a reminder at least seven days before renewal. You may cancel future renewals at any time via your account dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. Promotional offers are subject to the same refund rules unless the offer terms state otherwise. Access to live sessions or downloadable resources is considered digital content and subject to the waiver rules described earlier.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

If a payment fails you will be notified and given the opportunity to retry with an alternative method. Duplicate charges will be investigated and any overpayment refunded automatically. Chargebacks or suspected fraudulent activity will result in immediate account suspension pending investigation. mediaverko cooperates fully with banks and law enforcement in such cases.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom That the Policy Cannot Exclude

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. If you believe any term conflicts with your statutory entitlements you should seek independent advice or contact Citizens Advice.
